COPPA Direct Notice to Parents

Klett World Languages, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries, divisions, and brands, collectively, the “Company,” “us,” “we,” or “our,” as the context may require) operates and provides the Klett World Languages Learning Platform website at https://klettlp.com (the “Site”) along with the Klett World Languages Learning Platform mobile device application (the “App,” and with the “Site,” the “Services”).

Under the United States’ Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), online service providers such as the Company must generally provide parental notification and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under the age of 13. 

This notice is directed to parents purchasing access to the Services for use by a child under the age of 13. This notice describes our practices of collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13 when they use the purchased license code to create an account on the Klett World Languages Learning Platform. As further described in our Privacy Policy, we will not collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Klett World Languages, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries, divisions, and brands, collectively, the “Company,” “us,” “we,” or “our,” as the context may require) operates and provides the Klett World Languages Learning Platform website at https://klettlp.com (the “Site“) along with the Klett World Languages Learning Platform mobile device application (the “App“). This Privacy Policy (this “Policy“) describes our privacy practices for the Site and the App (together, the “Services“), including the types of information we may collect from you when you visit or use the Services and our practices for collecting, using, protecting, and disclosing that information. We respect the privacy of the users of the Services (“you” or “your,” as the context may require) and we are committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information through compliance with this Policy.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal information. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not visit, access, use, or otherwise interact with the Services.

2. Personal Information We Collect, Use, and  Disclose

As a result of your child’s use of the Services, and as more particularly described in our Privacy Policy, we may collect the following categories of personal information from your child:

  • Personal information, such as:

– Identifiers, including name, username and/or email address, age, and other similar identifiers.

– Education information, including grade, course information, and class lists.

– Location information, to the extent it can be derived from your child’s IP address.

– Inferences drawn from any of the above.

– Any other personal information that is uploaded or shared on the Services.

  • Information that is about your child but individually does not identify your child, such as information which has been de-identified or aggregated in a manner where it can no longer be used to identify your child.
  • Information about your child’s internet connection and the equipment your child uses to access the Services; IP address, approximate location, and other unique device identifiers; your child’s activity on the Services; and other usage details collected through your child’s use of the Services.

We may use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information, including a child’s personal information, as permitted by law and as described in our Privacy Policy, linked above.
