MARKETING MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to develop and manage marketing programs across different channels, in support of our overall business objectives. The Marketing Manager will:

 

  • Develop a marketing strategy for promoting our updated, innovative materials to K-12 and higher education markets. 
  • Select a suitable marketing mix and create cross-media campaigns, including newsletters, social media, community and individual efforts. As appropriate, also include print promotions for distribution, including catalogs, brochures, flyers, letters, etc.
  • Acquire sales leads through events and online marketing activity, and supply lead data to the Sales Department.
  • Monitor and analyze data on campaign performance and adjust marketing activities accordingly.
  • Attend local, regional and national conferences as appropriate. Manage conference attendance based on ROI, and use data to make ongoing decisions on conference participation. Create and give presentations.
  • Implement effective SEO measures.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and reactions, products, digital platform, and competition to our suppliers.
  • Establish marketing automation with our CRM system.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales departments on yearly portfolio review.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Department on the development of our new, updated ecommerce site, www.klettwl.com.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other business-related field preferred
  • Fluent in English and another language
  • Excellent communication and design skills
  • Familiar with CRM processes
  • Proficient in MS Office and the leading programs for layout and design
  • Familiar with the latest trends and methodologies in graphic design, web design, etc.
  • Conscientious; reliable follow-through, and a positive ‘can-do!’ attitude; creative thinker and problem-solver
  • Strong project management skills; ability to deliver on time and within the budget; ability to effectively set and manage multiple priorities

GERMAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM CONSULTANT - K-12

Salary: USD 65,000

Klett World Languages is a growing educational publisher with European roots.  We are the Chicago-based US arm of the Klett Group, which was founded in 1897 and encompasses 80+ educational enterprises.

We do it by creating engaging and meaningful content that sparks their curiosity and motivates them to learn. This position includes multiple responsibilities and tasks within the company, but primarily focuses on developing strong relationships with new and existing customers by advising, training, recommending solutions, and providing service and support. It requires a team member who has the ability to adapt quickly and work efficiently. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, flexible team-player, looking for a challenging role in a driven, yet supportive environment.

The program consultant will:

 

  • Promote our language materials, primarily in K-12 schools.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to strategize K-12 and College sales.
  • Travel to adoption presentations to help close business.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by building relationships, investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management and editorial teams.
  • Conduct promotional and post-sale training in person and via video conferences.
  • Engage in efforts to support sales and customer satisfaction, including the curation of materials, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, standards correlations, etc.
  • Attend local, regional, and national conferences as appropriate. Create and give presentations.
  • Support the Adoptions Manager in facilitating state, district, and school-level adoptions, including managing deadlines and requirements, collaborating with local and international colleagues, and employing creative problem-solving.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BA, preferably in German or education; fluent in German and English
  • Profound knowledge of the US educational system at all levels; special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in K-12 instructional materials decision-making processes and with an existing network of instructors and instructional materials decision makers.
  • Strong aptitude for sales, ability to sell and present to a variety of audiences in various formats
  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Outstanding written and oral communication in both languages (proficiency in additional world languages a plus)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding time-management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

Salary: USD 75,000

The Educational Technology Manager will be responsible for development and promotion of KWL’s digital materials. The position requires a team member who has the ability to adapt quickly and work efficiently. The Educational Technology Manager will:

 

  • Execute KWL’s EdTech strategy and facilitate the development of digital materials in coordination with software developers, authors, and editors.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department and the Board of Directors on determining the strategy for digital product development, innovation, and promotion appropriate to the US market.
  • Collect feedback from customers and propose improvements to KWL’s EdTech solutions.
  • Develop custom solutions and EdTech integrations to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Serve as liaison and subject matter expert to third-party EdTech providers.
  • Work closely with the Operations and Marketing departments on the yearly portfolio review, providing insights about pricing models and the scope of digital products offered.
  • Assist Operations department with development and maintenance of KWL’s enterprise software
  • Work with the Tech Support subdivision of the EdTech department on the following tasks:
    •  Planning, execution, and control of strategies for customer service related to educational technology, coordination of related workflows and development of online customer service tools in collaboration with the Operations department.
    • Coordination of regular training and support to the sales department to ensure that sales consultants are prepared to provide high-quality digital product demonstrations to customers.
    • Development of tools to support customer success including video and written tutorials.
    • Implementation, in close cooperation with the Operations department, of ecommerce and ERP solutions for distribution digital learning materials.

 

Required skills and experience:

 

  • At least a bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with EdTech
  • Knowledge of at least one European languages besides English (Spanish preferred)
  • A profound understanding of common tools and solutions used by students, teachers, and schools.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Experience managing complex international projects
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
