Salary: USD $15.50 – $18/h Location: Chicago, IL (hybrid)  Part-time to full-time 

Duration of internship: 6-10 weeks during the summer (exact dates are negotiable)

Job description

This position will support the Klett World Languages (KWL) Adoptions and Sales teams with projects related to proposing and delivering solutions to customers. The intern will gain a profound understanding of work in a sales-driven environment as well as in-depth knowledge of the requirements and processes related to preparing proposals for government agencies.

Responsibilities
Sales
  • Collaborate with sales team colleagues to strategize K-12 and Higher Ed sales.
  • Engage in efforts to support sales and customer satisfaction, including the curation of materials, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
  • Support the Sales Team in facilitating state, district, and school-level adoptions, including managing deadlines and requirements.
  • Collaborating with local and international colleagues, and employing creative problem-solving.
  • Manage and organize contacts within a CRM, including Case Notes.
  • Manage and process sample requests including print and demo codes.
  • Support the Marketing department in organizing materials to ship to in-person conferences and events.
Adoptions
  • With supervision, assist with cross-referencing solicitation documents (RFPs, RFIs, etc.) to create organized writing outlines that are responsive to requirements.
  • Assist with the creation of compliant, compelling responses for assigned proposal sections/topics in various proposals, and recommend creative ideations of associated graphics, charts, tables, appendices, and other information in support of proposal development, while working within tight deadlines.
  • Work with the team to create processes/procedures/tools to streamline work to increase responsiveness when applying to multiple deadlines and develop a library of resources.
  • Help prepare for technical expert and operational resources interviews to gather information supporting proposal development and transforms that information into clear, concise, compelling proposal text.
  • Work with the team to write and produce packages of information/materials that may be included in proposals or outreach.
  • Incorporates feedback from reviewers to improve drafts.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications, knowledge, and skills
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • BA/BS (completed or in progress) preferably in Spanish, French, German and/or Italian, Education or Business
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and preferably Spanish, French, German and/or Italian
  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently when given a task
  • Well-developed time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities, and independently manage timelines and deadlines
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, etc. and comfortable learning new software systems as needs arise
Physical Requirements
  • Must be comfortable picking up boxes up to 30 lbs and moving boxes with use of platform or hand dolly
  • Ability to pack boxes and equipment in organized manner
