Job description

As the Spanish Language Sales Consultant for Higher Ed, you will be responsible for retaining existing business and for winning new sales among colleges and universities.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the KWL Spanish portfolio to potential customers, both in person and via video conference
  • Provide exemplary customer service to existing customers
  • Treat every customer like a VIP, paying superhuman attention to detail and responding to inquiries in a surprisingly fast manner
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams on a Higher Ed sales strategy
  • Provide sales reports and projections
  • Work with management and editorial teams to improve products and services
  • Attend local, regional, and national conferences
  • Create and give presentations
  • Collaborate with local and international colleagues
  • Travel between 25%-30%
Qualifications, knowledge, and skills
  • 4 years of experience working in higher education or an adjacent industry
  • Master of Arts/Master of Science in Spanish Languages and Literatures or related field
  • Near-native proficiency in Spanish
  • Masterful ability to speak and write effectively in both English and Spanish, to both large and small audiences
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, rapid-growth environment
  • Ease in learning and navigating multiple software and systems
  • Demonstrable success collaborating on time-sensitive projects
  • Profound knowledge of the post-secondary education system
  • Conscientious, ethical, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Outstanding time-management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:
  • 2 or more years of participation in academic or professional conferences
  • Leadership experience in the Higher Ed setting
  • Experience in the materials adoption process in the higher ed setting
  • Proficiency in additional world languages
Physical Requirements
  • Must be comfortable picking up boxes up to 30 lbs and moving boxes with use of platform or hand dolly
  • Must be able to stand for long periods at conferences
  • Ability to pack boxes and equipment in organized manner

This is an exempt position that includes generous paid vacation and benefits.

Ideal candidates will live in the Chicago area or be willing to relocate to Chicago. Remote work may also be possible with required travel as appropriate.
