Job description

The Strategic Relationship Specialist will help KWL strengthen its presence in strategic districts, states, and education networks by leveraging established experience and relationships at the district and/or state level. This role is focused on building trust with key education leaders, supporting district- and state-level engagement, promoting KWL’s professional learning and educational programs, and helping identify relationship-based opportunities that support KWL’s commercial and adoption priorities.

This person should bring a strong understanding of how districts and state education systems operate, including procurement cycles, curriculum decisions, instructional priorities, and the role of professional learning in adoption and implementation conversations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with district leaders, state-level stakeholders, education agencies, and professional organizations.
  • Leverage existing district and state-level relationships to increase KWL’s visibility in priority markets.
  • Work closely with Adoptions, Sales, and Marketing to align strategic relationships, professional learning, and district- and state-level engagement with KWL’s commercial and adoption priorities.
  • Support district and state-level conversations by presenting KWL’s professional learning offerings and educational programs.
  • Identify relationship-based opportunities that may support future procurement, proposal strategy, adoption opportunities, or district engagement.
  •  Represent KWL at local, regional, and national conferences by building relationships, delivering presentations, and promoting KWL’s offerings.
  • Provide market intelligence from district and state conversations to help internal teams better understand customer needs, instructional priorities, and future opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, activities, and relationship development in the company’s CRM system.
  • Research current pedagogical trends, district priorities, and state-level initiatives in World Language Education to inform KWL’s professional learning and market engagement strategy.
Preferred Profile:
  • Experience working at the district and/or state level in education, preferably in curriculum, instruction, world languages, professional learning, or educational leadership.
  • Established relationships with district leaders, state education stakeholders, professional organizations, or decision-makers in K–12 education.
  • Strong understanding of district decision-making, procurement processes, curriculum adoption cycles, and professional learning needs.
  • Ability to represent KWL credibly with administrators, curriculum leaders, world language coordinators, and state-level stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting to educators, district leaders, and professional organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to turn market knowledge and connections into strategic opportunities for KWL.
