Job description

The World Language Sales Consultant plays a key role in expanding Klett World Languages’ presence across assigned territories by promoting, supporting, and growing the adoption of KWL’s world language learning materials. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with educators, administrators, and decision-makers at schools and districts. The Consultant acts as a trusted advisor, recommending solutions, providing training, and ensuring exceptional customer support throughout the sales cycle. Collaboration is essential to this role, requiring close coordination with the Adoptions, Management, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction. The position combines field travel with dedicated desk time for strategic outreach, follow-ups, and account management. The ideal candidate is results-driven, service-oriented, and passionate about language education.

  • Fluent in written and oral Spanish, French, German or Italian and English – preferably Spanish and English
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the current language program(s) at all K-12 and Higher Ed levels.
  • Collaborate with sales team colleagues to strategize K-12 and Higher Ed sales.
  • Travel to adoption presentations to help close business. Potentially up to 30% travel.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by building relationships, investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management and editorial teams.
  • Conduct promotional and post-sale training in person and via video conferences.
  • Engage in efforts to support sales and customer satisfaction, including the curation of materials, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, standards correlations, etc.
  • Attend local, regional, and national conferences as appropriate. Create and give presentations.
  • Support the Director of Sales in facilitating state, district, and school-level adoptions, including managing deadlines and requirements, collaborating with local and international colleagues, and employing creative problem-solving.
  • Manage and organize contacts within a CRM, including Case Notes
Qualifications, knowledge, and skills
  • BA/BS or Masters Degree, preferably in Spanish, French, German or Italian, Education/Teaching, or related field; fluent in Spanish, French, German or Italian and English
  • Profound knowledge of the US educational system at K-12 and/or University levels; special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in K-12 and/or University instructional materials
  • Strong aptitude for sales and ability to present to a variety of audiences in various formats
  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Outstanding written and oral communication in English + one of the languages listed above (proficiency in additional World Languages a plus)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Well developed time management and prioritization skills, with ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities, and independently manage timelines and deadlines
  • Experience with independent/remote work, with limited supervision in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, etc. and comfortable learning new software systems as needs arise
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
